Description
Summary:In this modern era, study about the Sun is increasingly complex. Solar activity with its dynamic makes various question about our Sun. By understanding the dynamic activity in the Sun, it is making the beginning of our comprehension, and make a possibility dynamic activity that occur in the Sun also occur in other stars, althought this is still a hypotesis of scientists. In this final project, study about evolution of Sun's prominences has observation of the activity from our Sun using a solar telescope in Bosscha Observatory with a

Ca II K filter and Hα filter. This solar telescope mounted on a mounting CGEM DX and has a diameter of 60 mm (f/6.6) with 0.7 A bandwidth for Ca II K filter and 0.5 Ǻ bandwidth for Hα filter. Image is recorded by detector DMX 41AU 02.AS Imaging Source (4.65 μm, 8-bit, 1280x960 pixels).

The Sun image then carried out stacking process using freeware software, registax and autostakkert. Test the method of contrast enhancement using wavelet method, CLAHE method, and retinex method using ImageJ were then analyzed for comparison with image of the Sun on the project GONG Hα and the results of image from SDO (Solar Dynamics Observatory), especially HMI Magnetogram filter

using GIMP. The last process is analizing the evolution of Sun’s prominences.
