Firstly, the subsurface resistivity values are deduced

from electric and magnetic field collected using magnetotelluric method on the desired measured point. Magnetotelluric method is a geophysical tool that utilizes natural electromagnetic field induction to image the earth subsurface based on its electrical conductivity value. After the data has been collected, inversion process then carried out and resulting in resistivity subsurface model in respect with earth depth. The ABIC (Akaike Bayesian Information Criterion) minimization inversion method in magnetotelluric case is a non-linear inversion method that is approached linearly with smoothness added constraint. However, determining the smoothness constraint parameter in this inversion method for every each iteration is based on the ABIC index that derived from Bayes' theorem and maximum entropy theorem. This inversion method works well for both synthetic and real data. text |
