Electrolysis is the process of breaking down a chemical compound that requires electrical energy. In this process, changes of chemical reactions can be observed by students. Some schools have experimented using battery as a current source. Experiments using battery can be done to observe chemical changes qualitatively but cannot be used to view chemical changes quantitatively. Therefore, we compiled a lab course module of the electrolysis using current source tool of own design. The current source tool is more accurate than battery. The current source tool is a constant current power supply AR.500. Before used to develop the lab course module, the efficiency of the device is compared to the constant current power supply Bio Rad commonly used in the ITB. The efficiency of the tool is measured properly then it is developed into an electrolysis lab course module. First, electrolysis was done on CuSO4.5H2O in acid solution. The second, electrolysis process is performed in a mixture of Na2S2O2.5H2O and KI. The last, electrolysis is done in a solution of NaCl. In the process of electrolysis the electrode used is C-Cu electrode. C electrode used as a positive electrode and Cu as the negative electrode. Results of electrolysis using a constant current power supply Bio Rad and constant current power supply AR.500 shows the results of the same reaction. The efficiency results of experiments using constant current power supply AR.500 is quite high. Electrolysis of CuSO4.5H2O solution in acidic conditions used the current variation 14, 24, 34, 54, 64, 74, 104, 154, and 204 mA. Electrolysis mixture Na2S2O3.5H2O and KI were done on the variation of the current 24, 34, and 54 mA. Meanwhile, electrolysis of NaCl solution conducted at 34 mA. The highest efficiency of electrolysis of CuSO4.5H2O solution in acidic was 99.22%. The efficiency of electrolysis of Na2S2O2.5H2O and KI solution were 94.78%. The electrolysis results generally has been able to prove the law of Faraday 1. The developed lab module then tested to high school students. The positive responses of students to the module and the experiment are interesting in tool display, easy and convenient in operating and feasible in experimental procedure. text
