Summary:Water as essential element in technical irrigation system, the volume is permanent. The need of water from many sectors increased is faced the decreased of environment ability in supporting water supply caused by the damaged river area. By then the used of water must be arranged with demand arrangement and not only on demand supply. In its growth, paddy plant needs more water than non-paddy plant. Beside that, in general irrigation as the biggest user of water, merely loss its on the way from water source to fields in Amandit river as a potential surface water resources in Hulu Sungai Selatan District, has discharge fluctuation, flooding in rainy season and driedoff in dry season With the need of water in the future gain increased go along the increased of people and to guarantee the water supply can flood the paddy field technicaly, with the result that support the growth and development of Hulu Sungai Selatan District, use of water must be efficiently, so as water supply for irrigation Efficient in water irrigation is done by the good water supply system, the best cropping pattern and schedule pattern, maximum effective rainfall in rainy season and decreased water losses in irrigation canal The study shows, in D.I. Amandit 5.472 Ha with cropping pattern Paddy-Paddy : - Group I : 1839 Ha with schedule pattern : 16 Nopember - Group II : 1539 Ha with schedule pattern : 1 Desember. - Group III : 2094 Ha with schedule pattern : 16 Desember In second cropping season (MT-2), on land preparation stage, water can be minus, so that has to maximize the effective rainfall and the effort to minimize water losses on irrigation network can achieve 190 % of cropping intensity.
