Description
Summary:The use of Physics in describing biological system was started in 1950s. One of the most fundamental topics studied is the motion of DNA molecule which is known to be one of the most fundamental biological molecule in living organisms. Of all the motions of DNA, the most interesting ones is the base-pair opening motion. In this paper, this motion will be discussed mathematically using the so called Peyrard-Bishop model. The Peyrard-Bishop Model uses Nonlinear Schrodinger equation to find the solution. However, the Nonlinear Schrodinger equation in this model is still not able to describe many types of base-pair opening motions in DNA. Therefore, in this study we will use the Complex Ginzburg-Landau equation which is the generalization of the Nonlinear Schrodinger equation. The equation produced several classes of soliton solution. These solitons can explain many differents phenomena in DNA base-pair opening.
