Geothermal resources answer all of these criteria. The potential of geothermal in Indonesia is so great, reaches 40% of the total in the world, so geothermal should be an opportunity for Indonesia to not depend on fossil energy. <br /> <br /> <br /> Geothermal energy is formed from the meeting below the surface of the plate that generates a heat source. Then further heat transfer occurs by conduction and convection. Conduction heat transfer occurs on the rocks, while the heat transfer by convection occurs due to contact with a source of hot water. <br /> <br /> <br /> In designing a course required energy resource reserve estimation calculation potensial. The author this time using the volumetric method to calculate the potential of geothermal energy reserves in the field of X which is located in Indonesia. The volumetric method is basically a method that considers geothermal wells as a form of a box whose volume can be calculated by multiplying the area of distribution of the thickness. <br /> <br /> <br /> At the end of the obtained results consistent with the hypothesis that the geothermal well field X generating electricity at no more than 25-30 year period that is equal to 3,964 MW and geothermal energy gained 39.64 MWthermal. It is feasible for exploration and production as it is considered economical. text |
