Description
Summary:This thesis describes of developing numerical model which use fiber analysis method based on new constitutive models for Concrete-Filled Steel Tubular Columns (for next is called CFT Columns) resulting from phase V of the United States-Japan cooperative earthquake research program to analyses the behavior of slender CFT columns which is represented by loaddeflection behavior, moment-curvature and interaction diagram. The results from the fiber analysis of slender CFT column specimens compare favorably with the experimental results from previous test which conducted by various researchers and authors. A parametric study is then undertaken to consider the effects of column slenderness, load eccentricity, grade of steel tube and grade of concrete cylinder on the behavior of slender CFT column, and comparative study to compare the behavior of circular section with square section of slender CFT column. Several conclusions and suggestions have been established in this study.
