Then simulation of PAF material encapsulation was conducted to know the characteristic of NAF overburden in prevention of acid <br /> <br /> <br /> mine drainage. This PAF material encapsulation used leach column test which was PAF material was layered by NAF material. Sample used in this consisted of PAF mudstone, NAF mudstone, and NAF sandstone. All the samples were tested to know the characteristics of each sample using static test method and afterwards the samples were tested using FDLCT method as a control of simulation of layering of PAF material with NAF material using leach column test. In this simulation, PAF mudstone was layered by NAF mudstone with variation of <br /> <br /> <br /> percentage of NAF: 25%, 50%, and 60%. Furthermore PAF mudstone was also layered by NAF sandstone with variation of percentage of NAF: 25%, 50%. Based on this research, encapsulation of PAF material using NAF sandstone could not prevent acid mine drainage, even it could create acid mine drainage. While encapsulation of PAF material using 50% NAF mudstone could prevent acid mine drainage. Other simulation of multi layers encapsulation of PAF material using NAF mudstone (NAF-PAF-NAF-PAF) with variation 40% NAF and 50% NAF it also could prevent acid mine drainage with the better result is on multi layers of 40% NAF mudstone than 1 layer of 50% NAF mudstone. text
