Building the velocity model in the average velocity allows a direct mapping between time and depth and it can avoid significant changes. In many cases, the average velocity model can be built easily using sonic log data in well data. The main benefit when build velocity model is the result of velocity for time to depth conversion has a low residual or error and better than velocity model based on seismic data vertically. The most important thing before doing velocity modeling is well seismic tie process, because information of average velocity and depth in well data should have correct and appropriate correlation with time in seismic data.

This study is application of interpolation based horizon building which are geology horizon and isovelocity horizon. Interpolation is formed directly or we can say with Horizon Based Interpolation (HBI) and formed gradually or we can say Horizon Based Back Interpolation (HBBI) with matching of interpolation operators/functions are Gaussian, Inverse Distance Weighted, and Linear. Mathematical functions from the interpolation operators are expected to be able to generate the correct estimation of velocity model horizontally. So that, they provide depth validation that approaches the true depth value based on statistical analysis. text
