Geotechnical exploration is required to study the information from the underground layers that can be generated to make a good and solid construction. One method used in geotechnical exploration are crosshole seismic method. Crosshole method is a method that uses the principle of the P wave and S wave that propagates in the ground to picture of the subsurface which is an important factor in the development of an infrastructure foundation. Crosshole method has advantages compared with other seismic methods is to acquire speed profiles for layering depth measurements immediately, the data are made at the same depth between the source to the receiver. On the field this method is done by two holes. Where in one hole we put in the source and on the other hole the geophone entered as the receiver. Source will be made using the principles of electromagnetic induction for the application as a source crosshole method. In order to produce a source mechanism, done charging the capacitor with high voltage and then released to the coil so that the bullet moves and hit the metal plate. Data collection was performed by two shots for every meter of depth. Two shots is done with a shot towards the bottom and shot upward and repeated when the data which obtained less clear. Based on the data obtained, the tool are able to provide a wave source that is reversible but the tool gives an electromagnetic interference effect so that the data recorded by the geophone disturbed. text |
