Geographic factors can influence chemical compounds of plant. The goal of this research is to examine chemical compounds of Ipomoea aquatica Forsskal collected from Kopo, South Bandung. Crude drug of Ipomoea aquatica Forsskal was extracted by Soxhlet apparatus using n-hexane and methanol and the extract was fractionated by liquid-liquid extraction using ethyl acetate, and butanol. The butanol fraction and ethyl acetat fraction were purified by preparative paper chromatography and characterized by UV-visible spectrophotometry. Two flavonoids obtained, from ethyl acetate fraction having trihydroxy on 3, 5, 7 position, and having ortho dihidroxy on B ring in 3',4' position and from n-buthanol fraction having 3-O-substituted, dihydroxy on 5,7 position and ortho dihydroxy on B ring in 3',4' position.
