Summary:Reinforced concrete is the most common structure used. As long as in its service life, reinforced concrete need no serious maintenance because its capacity to carry loads which apply to this structure is still remain. But, this condition is difficult to keep, considering there are many factor that could decrease reinforced concrete capacity. <br /> <br /> Corrosion that happen in steel reinforcing in concrete is one of several factor that can decrease reinforced concrete capacity. Especially to reinforced concrete in beach area which is so susceptible to chloride attack, which is one of corrosion agents beside carbonation. <br /> <br /> There are several methods that had been developed to protect steel reinforcing in concrete from corrosion. One of them is corrosion inhibitor which is used on this research. The purpose of this research is to assess the effectivenes between two corrosion inhibitor to protect steel reinforcing in concrete from chloride attack. <br /> <br /> The first corrosion inhibitor that used on this research is PROTECTOSIL CIT, a part of corrosion inhibitor treatment. Secondly, SIKA CNI, a part of corrosion inhibitor treatment. <br /> <br /> Even this research takes only four months but the influence of both corrosion inhibitor showed the increasing of reinforced concrete capacity to prevent corrosion rate.
