Area S was developed in 1997 and the steam injection began in 1999. Area S is located at the westernmost "Delta" field, and lies in an area that has a lot of faults, with the slope of the structure is quite high in areas south. <br /> <br /> <br /> Up to now less than 40% of Area S pattern which is already in a fully heated condition. With the existing production-injection condition, Area S is estimated can only to produce up to 45% Recovery Factor. Several development projects have been implemented since 2007 but still has not been able to optimize the rate of heating and the production of Area S mainly at faulted areas, this is due to the injection pattern configuration of Area S in its early development is not considered a fault and the development strategies that have been done are not all effective to be applied in Area S due to several reasons such as: subsurface uncertainty, surface location constraints, and also production facilities limitations. <br /> <br /> <br /> This study conducted an evaluation of some faulted area development strategies that have been applied in Area S. From the results of a study conducted found that alligning injection pattern with the direction of the fault combined with provides additional production wells, Drill additional production wells in the area between the fault and the Up dip injector, and aggressive Huff & Puff stimulation are proven to be successful in overcome the problems of depletion and heat spread on the faulted areas. <br /> <br /> <br /> Implementation of above recommendations on the upcoming projects of Area S, is expected to speed up the drainage and heating process of Area S faulted pattern, which related to increase the oil recovery factor of Area S. text
