Description
Summary:The variation of depositional environments influences coal quality, such as: thickness, distribution, continuity, and other coal quality parameters (ash content, volatile matter, etc). The interpretation of depositional environments is based on physical and chemistry properties and coal petrographics. Proximate and ultimate analysis of Seam C sample shows that Seam C was formed in wet ombrogenous environments. The petrographic analysis shows that Seam C is formed by wooden plant in reduction process, meanwhile the maseral scalar shows that the coal depositional environment was changed from lower to upper delta plains. Seam C was formed in the environments of lower to upper delta plains transition. The movement of depositional environments generates the differentiation of coal quantity and quality, such as thickness, distribution, continuity, and other coal quality parameters (ash content, sulphur content, moisture, and caloric value). These aspects will influence the coal resource and utilization.
