A psychrometric test and demonstration apparatus has been designed. Other than as demonstation apparatus, the apparatus can also be used as climatic chamber, and experimental unit for thermodynamics, psychrometrics, and heat transfer process. The apparatus has a test chamber with dimension of 50 cm × 60 cm × 50 cm, designed to be operated within temperature range of 1,1 to 48.4°C and RH range of 27 to 100%. Its cooling capacity is 2.4 kW and its heating capacity is 0.65 kW. The apparatus is designed using compressor, heat exchangers as evaporator and condenser, expansion valve, fans, and heater. Specifications of the components <br /> <br /> <br /> are: centrifugal fan of 450 m3/h volume flow rate, 0.25 HP power, and 150 Pa static pressure, finned tubes coil heat exchanger of 2.4 kW capacity for evaporator <br /> <br /> <br /> and 3.5 kW capacity for condenser, hermetic scroll compressor of 0.8 kW work and 4.4 m3/h displacement volume, thermostatic expansion valve with capacity of <br /> <br /> <br /> 2.5 kW, axial fan of 1215 m3/h volume flow rate and 60 W power for condenser, and finned strip heaters of 0.65 kW total capacity.
