An increase of temperature in the urban areas which would result of contradiction in the distribution of the temperature between the city center with the suburbans, the phenomenon is known as the urban heat island (Urban Heat Island / UHI). This phenomenon is characterized by the presence of a regional air temperature is higher than the air temperature surrounding area. This study use satellite data of Landsat 7 ETM + processing which is performed by using the mapping software in order to landuse changes and temperature in the period 2000-2003 can be seen in Surabaya. The next step is climatological data processing by using the trendline method which includes temperature and humidity parameters of Geophysical station Tretes, silver maritime meteorological stations I and II silver, Juanda meteorological station, as well as the Automatic Weather Station Lamongan for 10 years period from 1999 to 2008. The results of the data processing are correlated to determine the effect of the change of urban landuse on weather parameters, especially the air temperature so it looks a Urban Heat Island in Surabaya and surrounding areas. Based on the analysis results of the data processing, there are the spread of the Urban Heat Island area and an increase in surface temperature which follows the changes in land cover, so it can be stated that the process of urbanization or urban development also affect the condition of the Urban Heat Island in Surabaya. Based on the data processing of Landsat satellite imagery, the increasing temperature ranges between 1-3 degrees Celsius in periode 20002003, and based on the results of the observation data process, it can be seen the increasing temperature which reach 1.3 degrees Celsius in peiode 1999-2008. text |
