Summary: | This thesis study about response of non linear structure of reinforced concrete building under seismic load, using linear analysis (static and dynamic) of FEMA 273, static non linear analysis of capacity spectrum method of ATC 40 and non linear time history analysis. This study evaluate roof drift ratio which represent response of structure, though at element level of this study is evaluated by the rotation of each columns. <br />

After verifying several model in journal, then the case study is designing model of three dimension and twelve regular building with variation of plane, high, and several vertical lateral seismic resistance structure. The building is located in sixth zone and soft soil (SNI 03-1726-2002) with SMF (special moment resisting frame) and dual system (the combination of shearwall and SMF). <br />

To obtain the performance of each structure which has been design with static equivalent seismic load, then the analysis continue with linear analysis (static and dynamic / response spectrum) of FEMA 273 and non linear static analysis of capacity spectrum method (procedure B) of ATC 40 and also non linear time history analysis with ground acceleration data from scaled El-Centro earthquake and artificial earthquake for sixth zone soft soil. <br />

Several conclusions has been established from this research such as : non linear static analysis based on ATC 40 is conservative for SMF and dual system with several natural period ; linear dynamic analysis and static analysis based on FEMA 273 to SMF and dual system also with several natural period of structure, show roof drift ratio close to non linear time history analysis. Hence, linear analysis of FEMA 273 can be used as an alternative instead of using non linear time history to predict maximum displacement caused by strong earthquake. |
