The improvement can be done by adding a new parameter to the determination of tsunami early warning. This study attempts to utilize the P-wave period-duration (TdT0) as one of the parameters, in order to improve tsunami early warning issuance's accuracy. <br /> <br /> <br /> In this study we analyzed 27 earthquakes that occurred in Indonesia period 1992 to 2014 which have moment magnitude &#8805; 6,5 and focal depth &#8804; 70 km. Earthquake parameters used in this study was compiled from Meteorology Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), Incorporated Reserach Institutions for Seismology (IRIS), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Global Centriod Momen Tensor (Global CMT). Signal analysis used the vertical component (BHZ) seismogram for local events (2°-30°) and teleseismic (30°-90°) that were taken from BMKG and IRIS broadband network. This study applied a butterworth bandpass filter to signal analyze. P-wave arrival time is determined based on velocity models of Jeffrey Bullens. The analysis of P-wave periodduration has been done by using signal analysis method directly (direct-procedure) by utilizing a procedure proposed by Lomax. <br /> <br /> <br /> This study found the threshold of rupture duration > 50 s and period-duration &#8805; 420 s2. Period-duration and rupture duration have a strong influences to determine tsunami potential compare with quickly analysis of earthquake parameters. Based on this finding we can propose to include P-wave period-duration as one of parameters in the determination of tsunami warning in order to improve the InaTEWS performance. text
