THE INFLUENCE OF DYNAMIC DEVELOPMENT OF URBAN AREAS ON LAND CAPACITY IN STRATEGIC AREAS OF JATINANGOR EDUCATION PROVINCE

The phenomenon of the needs of land tends to increase which is a result of population growth and economic development. Along with the growth of especially urban areas , the needs (demand) for land resources increasing. Meanwhile in terms of availability in terms of land area within administrative boundaries is limited (in-elastic). Jatinangor is one of area that are in kecamatan Cikeruh Sub- district, Sumedang district. Jatinangor determinated as a higher education city has been planned since 1980. In the arrangement of Metropolitan Bandung Areas, Jatinangor defined as a sub-center which serves as a generator of local growth and education center so Jatinangor designated as a Strategic Area of Education (KSP) Jatinangor. Jatinangor environmental conditions currently experiencing degradation since the construction not planned well. This can be seen from the housing construction / irregular buildings, crowded housing, irregularities boarding houses, slums, narrow roads that cause Jatinangor be uncomfortable, crowded, prone to flooding, landslides and hot. This study aimed to determine the availability of land and demand of land in Jatinangor urban area as a Strategic Area of Education (KSP) and the development of urban areas with land carrying capacity. <br /> <br /> <br /> The first stages of analysis done is determine the status of land capacity to identify the availability of land and land demand. The next stage is to determine the relevance of the influence urban areas development of land carrying capacity. The results analysis of the availability of land acquired based spatial analysis using geographic information system shows availability of land located in the urban area covering a Strategic Area of Education (KSP) Jatinangor is 7705.76 ha, while for lands demand is 30658 ha for 2020. After finding out the availability and lands demand village 16 villages in urban areas a Strategic Area of Education (KSP) Jatinangor into deficit in 2020 while 17 villages remain in a surplus position. Furthermore, the influence of the development relationship of urban area on the carrying capacity of land, where the population growth affected to land capacity, which 1% increase in population affect floating residential land settlements amounted to 0.3%. <br /> <br /> <br /> Conclusions from the analysis that the characteristics of the urban area Strategic Area of Education (KSP) Jatinangor is linear morphology, for now it can still be developed residential land settlement, education became one of a major impact on the development of urban areas.To overcome deficit of the land, recommended for the distribution of the population as well as the concept application of vertical occupancy for land deficit.
