Calculation of the dynamic response of the building is generally considered the seismic energy propagates with infinite velocity (single phase), while the fact that the seismic energy propagates with finite velocity. The influence of propagation of seismic energy allows the difference in the dynamic response of the building. Buildings are modeled as shear building of reinforced concrete with lumped mass on each floor. Propagation is calculated in the super-structure of the building. Structural dynamic equations is solved by using numerical methods Modified Wilson θ simulated in MATLAB programming language. Analysis was performed by comparing the dynamic response of two different buildings storey. Ther results of numerical simulations show that the effect of the propagating velocity of seismic energy that is considered to be finite amplify the dynamic response of the building. Amplification ratio shows that amplifications accurs in absolute deviation, relative deviation, relative deviation between levels, absolute acceleration, and base shear structure as well as the input energy and the dissipated energy in the building. The higer building show amplification ratio greater than the lower building. text |
