Summary:This study investigated the potential of Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs) using ozone with hydrogen peroxide (O3/H2O2) for treat raw leachate from TPA Bantargebang (Bekasi) with a very low biodegradability ratio (BOD5/COD) of 0,02. With respect to ozone dose, <br /> <br /> H2O2 dose and pH, the removal of refractory compounds as indicated COD, NH3-N and biodegradability ratio of less than 0,1 by AOPs using O3/H2O2 were evaluated. At an initial COD concentration of 5542 mg/l, NH3-N of 2065 mg/l and BOD5/COD ratio of 0,02. Among the various treatments was studied, the ozone dose of 576 g/l and hydrogen peroxide dose of 3 g/l had the highest removal for COD (30,63%) at first running, (42,35%) at seconds <br /> <br /> running, NH3-N (15,28%) at first running, (20%) at second running and increase the BOD5/COD ratio (44,33%) at first running, (37,16%) at seconds running. The kinetics of removal COD was occurred at the zero order, first order and seconds order. The highest k values is 2,4128/minutes running 1 and 2,2103/minutes running 2 in the variation ozone dose of 576 g/l and hydrogen peroxide dose of 3 g/l at pH 8. Its occur at zero order. <br /> <br /> Increasing pH value causes the removal process of slowly. Its evidence the COD removal at pH 11 just 27,47%. Varian analysis multifactor test results the interaction ozone dose & hydrogen peroxide dose and ozone dose & reaction time significantly influences to the COD removal.
