ROAD NETWORK IMPROVEMENT IN SUPPORTING CULTURAL TOURISM DEVELOPMENT IN THE AREA AROUND BOROBUDUR

The road and its network is the infrastructure that plays a role in facilitating the movement of people, goods and services so as to generate socio-economic activities in a region. Road infrastructure development at this time is aimed at supporting the development of tourism activities as one of the leading sectors, where one of the priority tourist destination is the National Tourism Strategic Area Borobudur or KSPN Borobudur. The KSPN Borobudur’s main attraction is the presence of the Borobudur Temple was recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The issue of development of this area is related to the effort so that tourists can also visit various tourist destinations layover to another culture found in the surrounding area, namely the district and the city of Magelang. This study is expected to integrate a variety of objects of cultural heritage of the Ancient Mataram civilization around Borobudur based on the existing road network. This study used a qualitative approach with a qualitative descriptive analysis, correlation analysis, DPSIR, geografikal associations and actor network analysis. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Based on the results and analysis, it is known that in the region there are 14 objects of cultural Magelang relics of ancient Mataram civilization. However, these cultural objects are not yet integrated into a cultural tourism that raised a theme of history and civilization values. These are traces of ancient Mataram civilization development of cultural tourism that integrates the rich cultural attractions and historical value of the ancient Mataram civilization with other attractions. Travel route was developed based on linkages between attractions are woven by the existing road network in the area through a scenario based on a theme by random movement patterns and scenarios based on proximity to the point of accommodation with radiating hub movement patterns and eyeglasses movement patterns. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Thus, the development and improvement of the condition of the road network in the region of Magelang need to consider the development of the travel route. Supported strengthening the interested actors, this route will give these changes a better impact in the development of cultural tourism in the area around Borobudur.
