Phytochemical study has

reported that typical secondary metabolites of this plant is alkaloid. This research purpose are isolating and characterizing secondary metabolites alkaloid from I.

longiflora and testing thus bioactivity as anti-bacteria. The dry pollen of I. longiflora is macerated in methanol and performed acid-base extraction to get the alkaloid

fraction. The alkaloid fraction is purified and analyzed using some chromatography techniques and has been yielded three pure compounds. These compounds have been

characterized using NMR and MS spectroscopy, and yield molecular structure known as lobelin (1) as mixture of stereoisomer, lobelanidin (2), and lobelanidin glucoside

(3). Compounds (1) and (2) have been reported from I. longiflora, but compound (3) has just been first reported in this species. The experiment of bioactivity anti-bacteria is performed using disk diffusion method by measuring inhibition zone bacteria E. faecalis, K. rhizopilla, L. monocyt, B. cereus, S. aureus and S. enterica. Methanol extract of I. longiflora showed weak inhibition zone against E. faecalis, K. rhizopilla,

B. cereus, S. aureus and S. enterica bacteria with inhibition zone value 16, 14, 18, 16, and 18 mm respectively. But, isolated compound showed negative result that marks with no inhibition zone at bacteria. As conclusion, this research succeeded to isolate three alkaloids from I. longiflora, are lobelin (1), lobelanidin (2), and lobelanidin glucoside (3). Methanol extract of I. longiflora have weak anti-bacteria activity, but isolated compound not showed anti-bacteria activity text
