The capacity of trains is relatively higher than any highway transportation modes. It is one of many reasons trains become main transportation that used in many developed countries. The construction planning of Kertajati International Airport had issued a derived demand of relatively quick access from the capital city of Bandung to Kertajati International Airport. Railway transportation can be one of the best solution to solve this issue. Therefore, in National Railways Masterplan planned to build rail construction from Rancaekek to Kertajatji via Tanjungsari. The purpose of this final project is to design railway from Rancaekek to Tanjungsari using 1435 mm track gauge and having length of 9,3 km. The design procedures consist of railway geometry, railway structure, until railway operation system that including signals and train station layout. This design will use single track and class III based on Indonesian Ministry of Transportation Decree No. 60 Year 2012. There are 11 of horizontal alignments that consist of 8 with Spiral Circle Spiral (SCS) type and 3 with Full Circle type. While there are 5 vertical alignment. Railway structure consist of Rail Type R.54, double elastic fastening with DE clip type, concrete sleepers and especially for bridge and switch part using wood sleepers. The height of ballast is 30 cm and sub ballast 43 cm. The railway side drainage structure has square shape with height of 30 cm and width of 50 cm. Rancaekek station will have 5 tracks while Tanjungsari will have 3 tracks. The used switch in both station are W14 type with radius of 320 meters. text |
