ITB implements a shift system every 12-hours of works (07.00 – 19.00) in the

morning and (19.00 - 07.00) in the night. This research aims to determine the relationship between shift work (day-night) 12-hour of work itb security with the level of fatigue. The research uses design cross sectional with total group security shift 30 people and control 12 people. The measurement of fatigue uses reaction timer, levels of the amylase enzyme from the salivary glands, pulse of a workers, and subjective self rating test. The average of salivary amylase levels in the morning is 56.6 KU/L and the night is 51.33 KU/L with p-value=0.561. The average of reaction timer in the morning is 441.1 millisecond and in the night 446,36millisecond with p-value=0.772. The average pulse per minute of worker in the morning is 84.53 beat/minute and in the night 80.93 beat/minute with pvalue= 0.418. The result shows no difference in reaction timer, salivary amylase, pulse of worker among shift workers in the morning and night. There is found a relationship between shift worker, non-shift, and control to the salivary amylase (p=0.001) and reaction timer (p=0.016). text
