Description
Summary:Architecture and aesthetic considerations in the planning and building contemporary era often produce irregular shaped building. One of themhas horizontal irregularity which cause problems in the seismic performance of the structure. To overcome these problems, people make codes which can assure the safety of the building, i.e. Article 7.3.3.4 in SNI 1726-2012 which will be reviewed in this final project. Therefore, this project specifically addressesabout the regulation of 15-storey reinforced concrete building performance which has horizontal torsional irregularity (1a) and excessive torsional irregularity (1b). Irregularity is obtained from the difference between the centroid point and the center point of the building, causing torsional response (torque) on the structure. In this project, a non-linear analysis of earthquake acceleration time historythat has been scaled is performed to obtain the results of the structural responses. The result of the analysis show that the building that has a torque irregularity (1a) has abetter performance than the building that has excessive torsional irregularity (1b). The result of the reinforcement that has been given (according to Article 7.3.3.4) is proven to reduce the damage of the building and improves the

structural performance.
