So far, the improvement of quality of low-income urban communities housing carried out through the rejuvenation of the city residential area (urban renewal). Therefore, in this study, the assessment on sanitation of houses at low-income communities conducted. This study develops criteria of Good Quality Housing with Whole System Approach as methods to assess the sanitation of houses at urban low-income communities and evaluate the Good Quality Housing instrument that used in the assessment. Questionnaire used as a tool for assessment with 40 sub-component that are divided into four main components namely the physical housing component, socio-economic component, water supply component, component of domestic waste handling. Sequentially from the lowest to highest value, the result of assessment on these four components show that physical component of houses has the lowest value followed by socio-economic component, water supply component, domestic waste handling component. In addition, the evaluation of the assessment show that the instrument needed for re-determination of weight of the criteria used. Through this research also can be seen that generally condition of housing sanitation of low-income communities affected by the poor physical condition of houses and require government support in provision of appropriate and adequate domestic waste handling facilities. text
