| Summary: | Sun as a major driver of space weather, has an important role in the dynamics of the Earth's atmosphere, including in it was lightning activity. Various studies have been conducted to find the relationship between these two. Most previous research used data sunspot number as a parameter of solar activity. Then the lightning data that is still localized. Therefore in this study will use data flash of lightning globally to see the full link between solar activity and lightning flashes. In addition, the cosmic rays also play an important role in the formation of the cloud, where lightning formation taking place. The sun's effect on the lightning did not directly but through the mechanism: the heliosphere's magnetic field intensity that modulates Galactic Cosmic Ray (GCR), then the GCR that enter the Earth's atmosphere can trigger the occurrence of lightning and instantly change the conductivity of the atmosphere and cloud formation. |
