(+)-a.-Viniferin showed cytotoxic activity againts brine shrimp Artemia sauna with LC50 47,7 µg/ml, while other compouds were not active. The finding of hemsleyanol D, laevifonol, and (+)-a-viniferin in S. leprosula were very important, because of a rare of their occurrence in the genus Shorea. Furthermore, the presence of hopeaphenol in this plant supported a hyphotesis that the compound is a chemotaxonomic marker of Dipterocarpaceae. text |
