Description
Summary:Banan fruit is important fruit in Indonesia. High production level make banana fruit need good handling for storage post harvest storage. Banana ripening effected by hormone ethylene. Method for banana fruit delay ripening and regulation ethylene good internally or externally has been developed. One of alternative technology for ethylene regulation is use TiO2 as photocatalysis. TiO2 known can degrade ethylene through UV light activity. There gene that have important role on ethylene biosynthesis, the MaACS1 gene. Because of that, this research did to study for determine effect of TiO2 on MaACS1 gene expression on banana fruit cavendish ripening. There two treatment for nbanan fruit are ripening on control (open) and ripening banana fruit on glass FSC with TiO2 and all observed on day 0,1,3,6 and 8, an then do RNA isolation and cDNA synthesis and PCR. Result studies showing that MaACS1 gene expression tend more low between treatment with control on day 0 to 8. From result study we can had conclusion that TiO2 have potential on delay fruit ripening however not give maximum result.
