As a result, in a few decades world and Indonesia also began to be overshadowed by the issue of energy crisis. The solution is switch to the renewable new alternative energy, for example is geothermal energy. A geophysical methods used in exploration and production of geothermal energy is mapping hypocenter and epicenter location of the earthquake that occurred in the field geothermal using SED (Single Event Determination), which was first developed by Geiger, 1910, this method shows the distribution of earthquakes zone event through the hypocenter and epicenter location. Earthquake data recorded by seismic recording station every 15 minutes, equipped by several supporting tools, such as GPS, 3-component geophones, 12 volt DC battery and solar cell. The recorded data is processed by using software SeisGram2K60 and gives the hypocenter location in longitude, latitude and altitude coordinat. The results showed that, on May 1 to. May 5 2014, 9 earthquake event occured, which consists of 6 regional earthquakes and 3 micro earthquakes. Characteristics of the micro earthquake are the vibrations form is short, the duration of the earthquakes occurrence is briefly (10-30 seconds), has a small magnitude (≤ 3SR), shallow hypocenter, the arrival time differences (time of arrival) P wave and wave S are small (≤3 seconds). Single Event Determination (SED) method is accurate enough to determine the epicenter and hypocenter of micro earthquake by doing forward modeling then minimize error modeling results with actual events that refer to the time of origin of the earthquake. But this method still has a natural error calculations, especially for stations with a relatively far distance. text |
