The high number of earthquakes is due to Indonesia through the path of meeting 3 tectonic plates. Based on BMKG data, from January 1st, 2017 to May 4rd , 2017 there have been 86 earthquakes with scale above 5.0 on the Richter scale. This indicates that Indonesia is often a large scale earthquake and may potentially cause damage or even casualties. For disaster mitigation, one method that can be used is to calculating the Coulomb Stress changes after the earthquake. If Coulomb Stress changes increase in that area, that area has a great potential to have another great aftershock. If Coulomb Stress changes down / negative, then that area is not potentially big aftershocks due to previous earthquake. The author uses Coulomb 3.3 software to calculate Coulomb Stress changes and model them so they can see the results instantly. text
