Effect of Temperature Variation on Pollen Storage of Super Red Dragon Fruit (Hylocereus costaricensis) to Pollen Viability, Fresh Weight, Water Content, and Fruit Skin Thickness
This study was conducted to review the quality of pollen stored in low temperatures with variations in the reduction of pollen water content. The research was conducted in the field at Naga Geulis Fruit Garden owned by PT. Trisna Dragon Asih. Fresh pollen was taken and treated with water content red...

The research was conducted in the field at Naga Geulis Fruit Garden owned by PT. Trisna Dragon Asih. Fresh pollen was taken and treated with water content reduction with variations of 5%, 10% and 15%. All treatments were stored in a freezer with a temperature of -80 ° C and -20 ° C for ± 3 months. Pollination is cross-pollinated on field plots with pollen that has been stored, then observed fruit development to harvest. Observations were made on diameter, fresh weight, number of seeds, skin thickness, hardness of skin, degree of sweetness, and water content of super red dragon fruit. Treatment with a storage temperature of -80 ° C with a water content reduction of 15% produces super red dragon fruit with the best fruit quality. This treatment resulted in fruit weight of 465.6 grams, fruit diameter of 10.0 cm, number of fruit seeds of 3564.51 grains per fruit, fruit skin thickness of 5.38 cm, fruit sweetness level of 11.7 ° Brix, hardness fruit peel of 3.2 kg / cm2 and fruit water content of 88.03%. Treatment of temperature storage -80 ° C and -20 ° C based on one-way ANOVA test has a significant effect on fruit hardness and water content of super red dragon fruit. text |
