Since it is widely used in industrial applications, the control system design of induction motor drives has became more significant in the last decade. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> This thesis deals with the development of Direct Torque Control (DTC) using the predictive control approach. The predictive control approach considers the voltage source inverter (VSI) as a device with a finite number of control states. It needs to be selected at each time instant, the best control solution to minimize cost function. A torque and stator flux magnitude control algorithm evaluates the cost function for each switching state available in a two-level inverter. The voltage vector with the lowest torque and stator flux magnitude errors is selected to be applied at subsequent sampling interval. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> This thesis focuses on the design, analysis, and simulation of Direct Predictive Torque Control (DPTC) for controlling induction motor. The theory regarding induction motor and inverter system are described mathematically. State-space model of induction machine and its control algorithm can be validated by simulation results using Simulink. <br /> text |
