Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II International Airport Passenger Terminal is located in Palembang <br /> <br /> <br /> City, South Sumatra. The airport has an existing terminal building on the site. The building area is <br /> <br /> <br /> 34,000 square meters and the capacity is 3.2 million passengers per year. The terminal building will <br /> <br /> <br /> be developed into a passenger terminal of 88,300 square meters with a capacity of 5.2 million <br /> <br /> <br /> passengers per year and has direct access to the airport's LRT station in the first phase. <br /> <br /> <br /> Designing an airport terminal building, the main issues are about the local context, circulation, <br /> <br /> <br /> and long span structure. To answer the issue, the concept is to design airport passenger terminal <br /> <br /> <br /> with Palembang local context and has flexible spaces so that it can develop in accordance with the <br /> <br /> <br /> demands of the capacity and integrated with other transportation.
