Direct measurements of pressure drop in wellbore are expensive, so many calculation methods of pressure drop have been developed by experts such as: Correlation of Duns and Ros (1963), Hagedorn & Brown (1965), Orkiszewski (1967), Beggs and Brill (1973), and mechanistic Hasan and Kabir (1988). These equations are generally semi-analytical equations that tested by using the data validation of experimental results, either in the laboratory or using the actual field data. Hasan&Kabir (2002) modified the drift-flux concept which is first introduced by Zuber and Findlay (1965) to analyze the pressure drop in wellbore depends on the flowpattern. This model uses five flow patterns which called bubbly, dispersed bubbly, slug, churn, and annular. This Drift-flux model is considered the most modern and the most accurate method. <br />

Marda Vidrianto (2006) modified the mechanistic model, that developed by Hasan-Kabir,so it can be used for mist flow on Gas-condensate wells. On this study, this modification equation is proved to be better than the mechanistic model that developed by Hasan-Kabir. So in this study, the modification of mechanistic models that made by Marda will be tested on geothermal wells, and the results will compared with the drift-flux method and actual measurement data of geothermal wells data that are located in Japan. Then the error of both methods will be observed for each type of flow regime. |
