Description
Summary:Renewable energy, like wind and solar energy, plays an important part in supply energy worldwide. This trend will continue because global energy demand is increasing. According to Nursepta, the location of Manoko farm, Lembang, West Java have a positive aspect toward the wind speed in that area, thus creating an insight in the researcher to study it more deeply about other aspects about wind that might happens in that certain field of study.

In this research conducted direct observation at 21 October – 11 November 2015 using AWS in 10 meter high and also taking another data from different resource for the purpose of finding the direction, speed, and patterns of the wind in the area. The Data will be used to calculate the wind potency on wind turbine as a transformation method into electricity depends on the turbine’s specifications.

The result of the obsevation and the data from the farm proves that there’s diurnal pattern which causing the wind to blow strong enough in the morning and afternoon. Weibull Method implies low scale of wind speed distribution pattern between 0-2,5 m/s which categorized as a bad parameter for developing wind potency. Researcher hope that in the next research, it can detect other kind of potency lies in the field by spreading observation points, using a better wind turbine, and more accurate in data evaluation.
