Description
Summary:SEA-SON Company is a growing culinary Small and Medium Enterprise that focused in processed fish product, the product is Furikake rice seasoning. Currently, the company is facing problems especially in production process. The long-time production makes the company production process inefficient, it is implied to not maximal production and affect the financial condition. Therefore, the author raises this problem to a research to find the solution that can solve this problem through data collecting and analysis.

The objective of the research is to find the efficient business process to make a fixed standard operating procedure for the production process. By using business process management notation 2.0 and simulation with the help of iGrafx, a process analysis software, author analyses the bottleneck of the process and find the more efficient process with shorter time and low cost.

To get the data, author does the observation to the SEA-SON company to get the current condition business process and interview to the benchmark company which is a home industry, Abon H. Anung for comparison. The current condition of the business process is being analysed and simulated. By seeing the simulation result it can be known that the current process is not efficient, the production time is long and most of it is idle time. Then author eliminates and changes the unnecessary activities from the process to make it efficient. Then the improvement scenario is being simulated. The lesson learned that we get from benchmark is that to make the processed product such as Abon and Furikake need a long-time process, but how to utilized the long-time process is the key.

From the analysis, the result is that the new process is 65% faster and more efficient than the current process. It proves that the changes in business process will affect the efficiency of production also reduces the production cost and increases the productivity.
