Thus, berthing facilites must be provided throughout <br /> <br /> the nation so the movement of cargo and people would goes swiftly and efficiently. The berth <br /> <br /> structure in this thesis is located in Port of Bitung Container Terminal in line with The Longterm <br /> <br /> Development Plan of Port of Bitung as an International Hub Port in Eastern Indonesia. <br /> <br /> The structure type of the berth structure is a deck on pile. The thesis covers the design criterias <br /> <br /> of container vessel berth structure, environment data modelling (wave transformation and <br /> <br /> current simulation), the calculation of load applied to the structure, structural analysis, design <br /> <br /> of steel reinforcement of concrete element of the berth structure, and soil load-bearing capacity <br /> <br /> analysis. General references of the container vessel berth structure design is The Technical <br /> <br /> Standards and Commentaries for Port and Harbour Facilities in Japan written by The <br /> <br /> Overseas Area Development Institute of Japan (OCDI), whilst the structural design limit state <br /> <br /> is referred to SNI 1729:2012 for steel element and SNI 2847:2013 for concrete element. <br /> <br /> Structural analysis of the berth structure is carried out with a structural analysis software. The <br /> <br /> resulted design yields an UCR of 0.82 for the pile and a vertical reaction in the amount of <br /> <br /> 2841.888 kN. Hence the pile must be driven up to thirty meters under the seabed in order to <br /> <br /> support the berth structure. <br /> text
