Blesser (2007) as the bearer of the idea of "aural architecture" states that the architecture is not sufficiently lived visually, but also aural. <br /> <br /> <br /> The thesis tries to adopt the approach of "aural architecture" in designing the Christian Church in Pontianak, through the implementation of 3 (three) design strategies: 1) Application of environment and room acoustic principles to create the best condition of auditory space; 2) the synergy of the visual and aural space to present a multisensory space experience; 3) the creation of audible space sequences and hierarchies to enrich the dimensions of space experience. The application of these three design strategies is expected to build the appreciation and meaning of a more intense religious atmosphere and sacredness, and to evoke the emotional response of a more solemn congregation. <br /> <br /> <br /> The church design with facilities of worship, education, and community located at open space that crossed the equator in Pontianak city within area of 3.5 Ha. The ecclesiastical voice space concept synthesizes acoustic principles, the meaning of biblical theology, and the audial perception for a comprehensive design of church design. The result of the design is arranged in the discussion of outdoor spatial, landscape, and interior layout. text
