The function of fine arts is as a means of achieving: , mythological matter religious, education, psychological, personal, expression practical, social, economical, communicative, and culture.Characteristic of fine arts characterized by the primary attributes of fine arts is as an object and the development of creativity, is open and free, accommodate renewing and various trends practice of the fine arts which pluralistic and influenced the condition and situation sosial-politik and culture.The special property other fine arts was the character relative or is not absolute.In other words a fine arts like art is, compound dynamic, move freely. In a large sense, art can be conceived as a "product" or as a "skillfulness" or as "a creative activity or activities of creation". It could be argued that the definition of art is pluralistic because of the type and scope is so diverse and wide. In a limited sense of art or visual art can be defined as a form of artistic expression that express life experience, the experience of aesthetic or artistic man using a variety of artistic elements to produce the composition or structure of the works of art can be seen, observed, touched, or appreciated by the public or art connoisseur. Toba Batak tribe is a living culture of the past until the present time. An order of parts that can be found in nearly all of Indonesia from Sabang to Merauke. Wealth, customs, culture tradition, magical value are abundant of Batak itself, making it a tribe that was quite interesting to be appointed as an idea and the creation of a painting. The work of the author raised the magical values typical of Batak which became the object of "helpers" the creation of paintings.
