This led to the need to build the runway 3 to increase the capacity of Soekarno-Hatta Airport. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> This final project has a purpose to design the land improvement on runway 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The soil improvement will be done using Prefabricated Vertical Drain, Preloading, and Stone Column. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Preloading is planned to increase the settlement that occurred. Meanwhile, Prefabricated Vertical Drain planning is intended to accelerate the consolidation process. In this project there is also, a layer consisting of loose sand that is experiencing liquefaction. So to mitigate the liquefaction, will be used soil improvement with stone columns. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The design process of stone column is based on column capability to dissipate excess pore water pressure in case of earthquake. This can happen because the permeability of the stone column is higher than the surrounding soil. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> After the stone column design meet the criteria of the earthquake. Then we can also check the ability of the column to increase the bearing capacity of the surrounding soil. In addition, stone columns can also act like PVD to speed up the process of consolidation. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Modeling of stone columns will be modeled with PLAXIS 8.2 software. The settlement as a result of the consolidation will be calculated using the one dimensional measurement theory from Terzaghi and using PLAXIS 8.2. text |
