It should be simplified in order to be able to examine it's behaviour. One of this simplification is by assuming that the erosion is only occurred in one dimension that is horizontally. This is known as one line model of shoreline change. A mathematical model was derived for this model, it is then solved numerically by utilizing the available MATLAB software. We must be concerned about the assumptions which came from the formulation and boundary condition which were implemented. The result of this model is the shown in figure which described the prediction of the change of shoreline in the certain period of time. text |
