Description
Summary:TEC&H (Thermoelectric Cooler & Heater) is an electronic module capable of working as a heat energy pump as well as refrigeration. One of the TEC&H applications is the water temperature controller in aquarium, since aquatic animals

nned a certain water temperature range to have a good health and good physical appearance. Carassius Auratus (goldfish) is used as the of aquatic animals in this

research, which require an optimum temperature range which is 20-23 oC.

The design and analysis of TEC&H applications to control the aquarium water temperature took several steps. The first step was to determine the aquarium capacity to be tested, continued with the calculation for absorbed or released heat. and determination of the type of TEC & H and operating point based on the needs. The final step was to test the TEC&H system on the aquarium in actual

environment in Bandung, Indonesia.

Based on the calculations performed, the selected TEC&H was TEC12706 with 11.1 V and 3.8 A operating points. The results of the 30x20x25 cm aquarium test was that the 20-23 oC temperature range can be maintained in Bandung

condition in August 2017, which has a maximum temperature of 28.1 oC and the minimum temperature of 23.2 oC; however, the temperature is still fluctuating following the athmospheric temperature because the cooling load requirement is greater than the heat that can be absorbed by TEC&H in this test. It can be conducted that the TEC&H system was able to control the aquarium air temperature for Carassius Auratus in Bandung.
