The main design concept is Building Within the Nature. Building Within the Nature made to describe how this terminal can respond its site. Nature is one of the most important aspect because Bengkulu is really famous for its natural resources. Beside its beautiful nature, Bengkulu is also famous for its high-intensity earthquake. There are three design approaches that is used for this design which is structural approach, shape and form approach, and functional approach. Structural approach is used to respond the earthquake issue. The shape and form approach is also important because a terminal is a gate to a place so this building was designed to be an icon for Bengkulu. Functional approach is used because this building must be functioning properly to accommodate the activity inside the building. All of these approaches are used so that this building can respond its context. This building will not only be an individual building but this building can stand along with the surrounding. If this approach is used properly, it can leave a great impression for the passenger. |
