The purpose of this study was to determine the biomass productivity, lipid productivity, and total protein content of Thalassiosira sp. cultivated in a large-scale photobioreactor outdoor. The biomass of Thalassiosira sp. was obtained by seeding of algal cells from a small-scale to a large-scale. Lipid was extracted from dried algal biomass using the method of modified Blight-Dyer. The productivity of biomass, productivity of lipid, fatty acids content, and total protein content of Thalassiosira sp. were determined. The results showed that the average of Thalassiosira sp. cell density increased from 7.98×105 cell/mL to 1.86×106 cell/mL of cell cultivated outdoor for 5th d, with the biomass productivity of 22 mg L-1 d-1. Productivity of lipid Thalassiosira sp. obtained from the chloroform:methanol (1:1 v/v) and hexane:ethanol (3:1 v/v) extracts was 427 and 68 mg L-1 d-1 respectively. The content of SFA, MUFA, and PUFA of lipid Thalassiosira sp. extracted with chloroform:methanol (1:1 v/v) was 43, 32, and 25% respectively. Whereas, the content of SFA, MUFA, and PUFA of lipid Thalassiosira sp. extracted with hexane:ethanol (3:1 v/v) was 24, 48, and 28% respectively. The total protein content of debris cell Thalassiosira sp. was 4% (w/w). text
