Stratigraphycally, RT Field is divided into two zone, The Main Zone consist of Balikpapan Group and Kampung Baru Group from Middle Miocene to Upper Miocene and Shallow Zone consist of Kampung Baru Group and Mahakam Group from Upper Miocene until Pleistocene. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The aims of this research are to study stress regime of RT Field and its relationship with geological condition and wellbore stability. Data used in this research are log data, formation pressure data, fracturing data, and drilling final report. Several analysis have been used in order to achieve that objectives which are stress orientation and regime analysis, pore pressure evaluation, and rock mechanic properties analysis. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Based on the analysis, it is found that the stress regime is changing with the increasing depth, from normal stress regime to strike-slip regime. Vertical stress gradient has a value range from 0.86-1.01 psi/ft. Minimum horizontal stress gradient has a value range from 0.68-0.969 psi/ft. Maximum horizontal stress gradient has a value range from 0.74-1.474 psi/ft. Drilling mud window allowed for reservoir intervals in normal stress regime is 0.433-0.67 psi/ft and for strike slip stress regime is 0.54-0.87 psi/ft. Change of stress regime is influenced by recent geological conditions of RT Field that is part of Mahakam Foldbelt which has listric fault structure and detachment zone, related to gravity sliding system in deltaic environment of passive margin. text
