Description
Summary:Residential building in a post-occupation phase and building operations consume large amounts of energy and cause environmental degradation. Some effort to

reduce the adverse effects of residential buildings by implementing green concepts through occupant behavior (pro-environmental behavior). Proenvironmental

behavior is the interaction of the building occupants that shows the green concept, ie efficiency in energy use and support for environmental sustainability. In order to increase the value of pro-environmental behavior occupant, need to know first the factors that have a significant influence on the occupant behavior.

This study aims to identify the relationship of pro-environmental behavior occupants by the factors (physical and non-physical characteristics) that are

supposed to influence, especially on student vertical housing. Research stage begins with the identification of the existing pro-environmental behavior and identification of the factors that affect both physical factors and non-physical factors. Furthermore, analyzed the correlation between all the factors to get the

most significant factor of occupant pro-environmental behavior. The results showed that to improve the occupant pro-environmental behavior is necessary to the intervention of physical factors and non-physical factors as an unity residential environmental conditions. Intervention can be done by applying three residential design criteria, namely the design which supports the application of the concept of green building, support the creation of behavioral opportunities, and support the improvement of occupants environmental response value. Furthermore, application of the green concept to improving pro-environmental

behavior, can be done by considering three priority categories, namely the site development, energy efficiency, and use of materials.
