Summary:Community participation is an important factors to ensure the sustainability of institution, program and activity, this includes the solid waste management sector. Furthermore, citizen actually hold an important role to manage the solid waste from the sources. Unfortunately, they haven’t fully realized about their role and potential to participate, because of lack of awareness and negative perspective about solid waste, causing the ineffective condition of solid waste management. In consequence of this, many initiatives have resulted to increase the community participation in solid waste management, such as people movement, anorganic waste management with trash bank and focus group discussion. Solid waste management based on community participation can reduce almost 70% from the total generation of domestic waste in RW. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Purpose of this research is to identify and build stakeholders role mapping in solid waste based on community participation in Bandung City. Respondents are divided into two groups, i.e area based local community and non-government organization. The limitation used for respondents identification are local community have already participated in Bandung Green and Clean activities from 2009-2012. Meanwhile, non-government organizations have participated in Bandung Green and Clean and Zero Waste Area activities as facilitators. The steps of this research will consist of characteristics and participation level identification, stakeholders mapping based on their roles and influences, centrality assessment using Social Network Analysis, capacity assessment using position and power index and also Community Capacity Index. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Based on the results, every respondents have collaborated with many stakeholders and internal government holds the central position among those stakeholders. Local community and formal community (NGO) have capacity to support the information dissemination and education about community based solid waste management. The stakeholders mapping will divide the role among internal Bandung City government, non-government organization, area based local community, private sector, educational institution, media, informal sector, communication forum and Bandung City citizen.
