Lack of infrastructure support become one of important inhibitor that hamper the Kalimantan’s log timber distribution. Inland waterway is one of effective and efficient accessible water transportation in logistic distribution for supporting log timber distribution. This final assignment aims to design inland waterway at Mahakam River in East Kalimantan. This inland waterway is prepared for three important conditions. The first condition is the minimum water level to determine the worst condition of a shipwreck by modeling a certain size barge can pass through the river. The minimum elevation is required the mainstay debit data and the lowest tidal elevation. The second important condition is the bend radius factor that greatly affects the channel design. Radius bend needs to be calculated based on the length of the barge's plan. The last condition is the flood elevation of the river by considering the flooding on the banks that could cause the barge to slow down. The current state of flood is modeled with the highest tidal input and flood discharge data. Flood embankment will be the solution for flooding on the banks. Taking into account these criteria, the design of the Mahakam River canal in this Final Project can be passed by barge with length of 86.96 meters, width 18.32 meters and draft 4.82 meters with 1.38 meter embankment at the location of the floodplain. text
